Currently Reading: Carl’s Doomsday Scenario

I’ve recently started reading Carl’s Doomsday Scenario, the second book in the Dungeon Crawler Carl series by Matt Dinniman.

I actually started the series after a good friend recommended it to me, and I’m happy I took her advice. I went into the first book without really knowing what to expect. So far, the books are funny, exciting, and somehow very easy to get attached to. I find myself wanting to keep reading just to learn more about the world and the characters. There is a lot going on here.

I’m also enjoying the second book even more than the first so far, which I wasn’t necessarily expecting. The first one was already a lot of fun, but I feel like I’m getting even more invested in the story and the world this time around.

I think the first book naturally spends more time explaining “the crawl”, how things work, and what’s actually going on. It felt a little chaotic at times because there was so much information, and I definitely had to sharpen my focus. Book two, on the other hand, flows more smoothly, making it easier to read without needing quite as much brain power, haha.

Another thing I’ve really enjoyed is that this is my first time reading anything in the LitRPG genre. It’s definitely something a little different from what I usually read, and there’s something really fun about getting to experience a completely new type of story.

So far, I’m glad I picked this series up!

Now I just want to keep reading and see where Donut and Carl’s story takes me next.
